boots pregnancy test? i have just done a pregnancy test from boots but theres one problem i threw away the results meanings by accident so i have no idea if i am or not pregnant, the first box shows a line going accross n the second box shows a line going down. does this mean i am or not,x

Cecilia M replied: "Go to, it is a website that shows pics of many brands to demonstrate what a positive looks like."

misty l replied: "yes you r"

nancy replied: "may be"

Catherine J replied: "What i suggest you do is read the box as it normally says on there, if this fails, go ask a boots pharmasist. but truely, normally the only tests that are really any good are clear blue. with them it's easy one line your not pregnant two lines you are.. Good luck, i hope you get the result you hope for!!!"

Away With The Fairies replied: "According to this link, you're not: Hope it's the result you wanted x"

claire b replied: "hiya the result was negative"

Rachy B replied: "the small window is the control window, so there should only be a line going downwards. the bigger window is the results window, and if its going across its negative, but if it looks like a + with two lines in it, then youre pregnant. i hate boots tests...got 3 false negatives with them before giving up, buying a clearblue and getting a positive instantly. good luck...i hope you get the result you want xxx"

Nix0r replied: "No it is negative. I took one yesterday and thought it was like many meaning two line but it has a plus or a minus. Yours sounds like a minus."

Has anyone got a false negative on a boots pregnancy test? if so how many days after your missed period did it show negative and then how long did it take you to get your Positive result? Nicki it wasn't a blood test it was a urine test. x

*Sparkles* replied: "No but get a test called pregnatest, it's what i got and i had the pink line come up as soon as my pee touched the stick"

tinkerbell272000 replied: "i did a boots test 1 week after i should have my period and it came back negative so i did one a week later and it was possitive"

Baby Noah Due 12.05.08! replied: "if you think that it was a false negative then take another test of a different brand. like first response or clear blue. i took the clear blue digital, its alot easier to read "pregnant" and "not pregnant""

n3utr0n replied: "I kept peeing and peeing but it always said negative despite the fact that I looked seriously pregnant. But what do you expect from a dollar-store spongebob air freshener?!"

angelcakes replied: "All tests can show up negative for one person and positive for another. It is all down to each individual. I would recommend if you don't want to rely on hpt then go and see your doctor for a blood and urine test. good luck =D xxx"

Paris Rose replied: "I haven't tried a boots test but the sainsbury's ones are good and are more sensitive than they say on the box! I am so sorry you have got a negative today, but it may be worth trying again in a couple of days! I know how desperate you are to get pregnant and really hope it happens for you soon. If ever you want some extra advice, you can always E-mail me, I'd be glad to help, if I can. The thing holding me back at the moment is my age, but I am pretty well informed on how things work and how to maximise the chances of conceiving! Good luck, anyhow!"

*Sparki* replied: "Not on Boots test but on many others! It took me 4 tests to confirm I was pregnant. However the test pick up levels in your hormones so it's not really the 'tests' fault as such if later you discover you are pregnant. The further along you are the stronger levels of these hormones you will have so the more likely to get a + result. I was 6wks when I eventually found out I was pregnant after 4 negative tests! I was about 4 days late for my period"

wishing4babies replied: "use a test called first response from boots or superdrug and it can tell you if you are pregnant 6 days before your period is due .. i used that one and 2 lines showed up straight away"

paula dont give a damm. replied: "Paris rose is right about the sainsburys tests,2 for 5 pound and they worked for me, i tried boots and clear blue digital and they said negative, used the sainsburys one and got 2 positives, so i found the cheaper ones sometimes do work better.I hope you get a positive hun.xx"

Gemma babes. replied: "my one from boots was correct.. (:"

Monique S replied: "just go a blood test."

Nikki replied: "Negative blood results really don't happen that often, sweetie. But they do happen every now and again. Wait until the day you miss your period, then they're pretty accurate for sure. The one saying it was negative around her period, and positive a week later.. eh I don't believe that too much. Urine test, sure, but blood no generally. Doctor's office won't wait a week to test. There are lab errors, which are more common then false negative blood results."

I recently tried a boots pregnancy test, and it came up with a line in each box, does this mean positive? I'm not too sure if it has to be a plus sign (+) or if it just has to be one line, some tests are different, either way i threw the box out, but i missed a pill and am not feeling right. if any1 has any advice it would be much appreciated. Thanks

fsugirl11781 replied: "When i used the +/- home pregnancy tests, they were confusing for me. The lines never appeared quite right. I went out and spent the money on a test that spells out pregnant/not pregnant. That test confirmed what i thought the others tests had said. I would say spend a little extra money to get this other test, so u can be sure, and good luck!"

mgirl09 replied: "2 lines means positive at least it did on my test.but i would get a digital test to make sure"

boots pregnancy test. Not worked. can i try again on the same stick? ? i read that if the oval window is clear it means i didn't do it wright or it didn't work. is their a way to make it work? like pee on it again or something? what would cause it to not work?

Mom to be Of Isabella-Marie replied: "NOOOOOOOO, buy another one"

It's a Girl Due Jan-29 replied: "no you have to get another test"

tori m replied: "OMG!! R U serious how could you not pee on one right. Better get onother one"

fredericka replied: "buy another test and God bless you did you miss the stick"

ღ♫Pяєgŋaŋt ώǐτħ 1șτ ßøŷ Jaŋ19♫ღ replied: "no, no and no. you can NOT use the same stick"

misshollywoodx replied: "if you do it again it won't be accurate. you have to buy a new test. try peeing in a cup next time and holind the stik in there for 10 seconds."

amandacole76 replied: "Do not re use it! please, please buy another one.Or go to your Dr for a blood test which are more accurate than a pee test.Good Luck"

Jeeper girl :] replied: "happened to me to. ... but i dont think i peed on it for 10 seconds.. (i was nervous.. cuz i was 3 weeks late)... go buy another one.. check expiration maybe?"

D E replied: "No, it will not work again as you have already contaminated it you have to get another one to obtain an accurate result."

nightbutterfly69 replied: "buy a new test then use one of those little dixie cups and pee in the cup then dip the stick in it. i ruined 2 tests because i couldnt pee on it."

Susie Museli replied: "Once the stick has been used then that is it, you can't use it again. Buy another kit, make sure you read the instructions then read them again. It's very difficult to mess up a pregnancy test unless it's somehow become contaminated."

kelly s replied: "You should get another test to be sure, and no you cannot wee on that stick again lol good luck x"

Boots Pregnancy Test Kit? How effective is the Boots Pregnancy Kit available at BOOTS , UK ?

megalus03 replied: "Not sure, but i took a walmart 'cheap and cheerful' test and it still came out pos, i'm assuming Boots generic would work just fine!"

BabyHillOnBoard replied: "These tests are all clinically tried and tested - many people get accurate results with Dollar brand versions, so don't feel you always need to go for Clear Blue!"

sunflowirs21 replied: "I always took the Rite - Aid brand myself too and whether it was pos or neg it was always right.. Save the money they all work the same.."

slimmykimmy05 replied: "I took a dollar test, actually 3 0r 4 and they all were positive. I don't think the brand name really matters!"

What do you think of the Boots Pregnancy tests? I am due AF today so i thought i would grab a cheap one while shopping and i got the botts own brand, and i did the test as directed to the button and nothing happened. I have had this happen once before in the past. I have one more do you think i should wait till the morning or do it now!! Help x x

kaydensmommy replied: "wait till the morning.. thats the best time to test and if it happens again call your dr. and ask for a blood pregnancy test."

sammy replied: "wait for the morning if it does the same thing maby trying the first response. hope this helped"

emma b and son due march 4th replied: "if you due af then do it now. its only dodgy if you try and do it before your due. if bfn leave it a couple days and repeat x"

boots single pregnancy test help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!? i bought a boots pregnancy test the other day and the instructions said that in the indicator window it should come up with + ( a cross ) if you are pregnant Or a - ( horizontal single line ) if your not But my results was not a horizontal single line it was a vertical one? has anybody used this test before? has this happened before?? im quite keen to take another for reassurance incase it was a duff one??

Girliegirl replied: "it means the test was a dud you need to take another one."

Ashley replied: "take another one."

Due Nov.25th w/2nd Boy replied: "The test was bad. The control line should always appear in the window if the test is accurate. You could still be pregnant though. Just take another to see. Good Luck!"

Boots Pregnancy Tests? Hi All Ive taken a boots own brand pregnancy test. i got a cross in the results windon (the line down was faint) but there was definatly a cross. Has anyone had any problems with these tests. Could the positive result be wrong? thanks Thanks to everyone for their quick reply. My husband and i have been trying for a long time and never had this. I really want it to be right but hate getting my hopes up incase im disappointed. thanks again x

Cookie replied: "Doubtful. I've heard of false negatives not false positives."

ilovemyairmanjay replied: "Never heard of those. Sorry."

Unknown replied: "It can be wrong, but most tests are quite accurate. The second line can be very fain but it would still be considered positive...if you are still unsure...try buying another test of a different brand...it will likely have the same results...Congrats!"

suzyk99 replied: "i don't know - probably best to try with another of a different brand or something you can get some that simply say pregnant or not pregnant so no confusion over little lines in a window =]"

'Its a Girl'! 3rd sept!! replied: "No the only one ive had a bad time with are the clear blue digital and they are suppose to be one of the best!! I got a rare false positive!! Congratulations by the way xx"

sarah h replied: "you are pregnant it doesnt matter if the cross is faint it just means you hormones aint as high or it could be early. so congratulationsxxx"

Girlygiggles2205 replied: "Your pregnant. it doesnt matter that it's a boots test or not, just because a clearblue is more expensive, doesnt make it more reliable. it is 99% accurate like the others, ive used it, twice, and both been negatives, when they were ACTUAL negatives. so i'd stop worrying and book a doctors appointment to have ablood test, which will, i am sure, give you a definite positive. good luck x"

Lulu86 replied: "I used this test too and got a positive first time. A false positive is very rare, and these tests are very accurate. In fact alot of doctors in my area don't even do a pregnancy test in the health centre, they go on the home test if that was positive, as it's just as accurate."

TTC # 2 Hopefully replied: "Once a + it is a real +"

Samyw efc replied: "I don't think so they are generally really good, you could try another brand poundland do them too and they work good too. Plus they are alot cheaper, i have tried every pregnancy test going i tried for 6 years to get pregnant but was told i can't have any so i know they work. So got to poundland if you have any near you i'd go and try one of those for a second opinion. good luck whatever way you want it to go."

Kim G replied: "I used one of these and got a faint positive because i was only 1 day late for my period. I got myself a clearblue digital test which tell you a definate answer. I was pregnant. You can get a false negative but you cant get a false postive."

jenyzmcc replied: "You're best taking another test just to check, but it is very unlikely to get a false positive, I'm not actually sure it's possible. But it is possible for a false negative. You are probably pregnant. A home bought test is basically the same as the doc's. Congrats. x"

nooni replied: "i dont think so for me before i get pregnant whenever my period was late i used to take the test and when it came negative it was correct and this time when it came positive it was correct and i took the test 3 times and all the 3 times it was positive"

ஐ♥P u S s y CaT♥ஐ♥мǝØω♥ replied: "i had exactly the same thing (from boots too) and the two test i have done had a very very very faint line but it was there, and now i am 18 weeks pregnant!! CONGRATULATIONS!!"

ιм a мoмму! ♥ replied: "the second line is always faint on a positive pregnancy test. its how people get confused. go to your doctor and explain and they will do a test to double check."

how accurate r boots pregnancy tests? mine is possitive, but still can't believe it!! fucking hell! what!!

your pete replied: "50/50"

Tilly replied: "It's very rare to get false positives (although it can happen), false negatives are slightly more common, but generally the tests are pretty accurate (packet claim is 99%). Congratulations! :-)"

Goonerbird85 replied: "they are just the same as poundshop ones!"

offmihead replied: "boots are not very good pregnancy tests but they are very good for walking in. Have you tried going in to a pharmacy and buying one from there. Some pharmacy's have there own brand and are believed to be quite good. beware of the penguin, beware of the penguin!!! bark bark"

just a girl. replied: "I have heard only good reports on the Boots test. Boots products in general are of high standard. Trust it! CONGRATS!! x"

ஐ♥P u S s y CaT♥ஐ♥мǝØω♥ replied: "CONGRATULATIONS!!! they are very accurate, i'd done two from boots and they were both positive"

ash replied: "all pregnancy tests are 99% accurate and i got my confirmation from boot's pregnancy tests all 6 of them that i bought. Book in for a blood test with your doctor if you really cant believe it and they'll soon tell you. Sounds like congratulations are in need. x"

Karen M replied: "well i done 7 tests (alot i no) and one out of them were negative....so im sure most of them are pretty accurate.... congrats x"

sockthing replied: "Well mine was right!"

Positive test then negative later on in day? help? Ok well the other day I asked a question about pregnancy symptoms as I seemed to have a lot so today I did a Boots pregnancy test which showed a faint positive but I didn't trust it so decided to buy a Predictor test and used that later on in the day which showed negative. I did the 1st one when I woke up this morning so maybe the urine would of had more HCG in it that the second test when I didn't really need the toilet but if I am pregnant I would be around 7 weeks so would it matter what time I took the test? I thought there would be a lot of HCG at 7 weeks but I can't get the positive test out my mind. Any ideas what my chances of being pregnant are? Thanks Had no bleeding or pain. Last period was the 26th April I didn't test sooner as didn't think I could be pregnant but I'm regular so to go this long is weird. Thank you for answering everyone

Mike&Jen Expt Boy 10/8/09 replied: "In order for it to be positive, even a faint positive, it had to detect the pregnancy hormone. I think you probably are prego. Maybe your urine was too diluted?! Go to the doc and have them do one..... good luck!"

malica replied: "The first pee of the morning is the highest in HCG, so if you took one test first thing in the morning and the other later, that can certainly affect the results. Some women take longer to get a positive result than others, so it's not that unusual even as late as 7 weeks. Wait another 3 days (the pregnancy hormone will double every 2-3 days), and test again first thing in the morning. If you're not having painful cramps and bleeding though, it's certainly looking like you are pregnant. Good luck!"

Induction scheduled June 17th replied: "well at 7 weeks you should get a pos test no matter what brand you use. i would make a dr appt and test at the dr office with a blood test. they could actually just do a ultrasound and see if there is any baby in there now. why would you wait so long to test in the first place? edit~~~~ as far as the hormone rising it starts to double every 24-48 hours starting at 0 when implantation happens. the regular tests pick up around a level of atleast 25-30 depending on the test and the digital tests are around 50 so when you think about it 2 4 8 16 32 64 if it doubles every other day that would be two weeks after implantation so it should surely come up pos now"

Emily replied: "My best friends mum is a doctor and she once said that pregnancy tests never show uncorrect "positive" but that they can show a false "negative". Besides, it's harder to get a correct result the longer you wait, so if you are around 7 weeks there is a pretty big chance to get a false negative in a pregnancy test. So I would say that you are more likely to be pregnant than not to be pregnant (especially if you haven't gotten your period in all this time, which I assume that you haven't)"

tcwalker17 replied: "The HCG levels are strongest in the first urine of the day, but your right if you think your about 7 weeks the result should be pos anytime of the day, maybe you have your days wrong? i would put a test in to your GP or even make an app and explain. That happened to me and hear i was having an early miscarriage, i take it there's been no blood or pain? To put your mind at ease visit your GP they would advise from there. good luck!"

Fabulous. replied: "I'd say there's a 40/50% chance you're pregnant, i'd say wait another week, and do another test 1st thing in the morning. Get a digital one, so there's no "faint positives". If you're still not sure by then, go to the doctor. If you can't wait a week, then just go to the doctors as soon as possible to find out. In the meanwhile, live like you are pregnant, just to be on the safe side, so no alcohol or anything."

bactat replied: "It is very likely you are pregnant. It is really rare to have a false positive, as long as you took the test correctly (didn't read the results too far outside of the time window, say an hour later). False negatives are very common. The predictor test could simply be less accurate than the first one you took (have a higher HCG threshold). Also, as you said, early morning urine is more concentrated - regardless of how many weeks you are. You may not be 7 weeks along. The predictor test may have malfunctioned. But the likelihood of a false positive is very low, so get to a doctor and get a blood test to figure it out for sure. Good luck!"

Due 2/17/2010!! replied: "try again in the morning..but it sounds pretty positive"

L replied: "I'd say you are, you could get a blood test to make sure."

* 15 weeks pregnant * replied: "My first test was faint positive, then I had a negative. I took one with first morning's pee and it came out positive again."
